The seventh edition of the LunaRio Fest will take place in Riolunato (Modena) on Saturday, July 8, 2017, starting at 4:00 PM until late at night. The festival will begin with attractions, workshops, and performances for children, who will have a dedicated space in the “Mamma Natura” play area. Meanwhile, street performers and Disney-themed entertainers will bring the afternoon to life in the town’s squares. “We wanted to give special attention to children,” said Alfio Rocchi, president of the LunaRio Association, “so we expanded the offerings for them, starting in the early afternoon until 11:00 PM.” The evening will feature a headline performer; previous editions have seen the participation of Gabri Gabra (2013), Gem Boy (2014), Gene Gnocchi (2015), and Sergio Sgrilli (2016). For the 2017 edition, Marco Della Noce, best known for his character Oriano Ferrari, the F1 head mechanic, will take the stage. At 4:00 PM, the markets will open, showcasing mountain products, artisanal crafts, and, starting in the late afternoon, food stalls throughout the town offering local culinary specialties. From 7:00 PM, musical performances by various bands will animate the streets and the three main squares of the town. In previous years, fundraising efforts have supported ASEOP (Association for the Support of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology) and contributed to the creation of “La Casa di Fausta” and other local projects. This year, the festival proceeds will again be donated to ASEOP, specifically for the purchase of new furniture for seven rooms in the pediatric hematology-oncology ward at the Modena Polyclinic.
